Shuttle Launch Schedule April, 24, 20088:30 a.m. Shuttle Discovery • ISS 1J STS-124 will be the 26th U.S. mission to the International Space Station. The flight will deliver the large Kibo science laboratory module to the station for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. May, 31, 2008 5:01 p.m. Delta 2 • GLAST The Boeing Delta 2 rocket will launch NASA's Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope observatory into orbit. Launch site: SLC-17, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida July, 20, 2008 12:00 p.m. Delta 4 • GOES O The United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket will launch the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite O, or GOES O, for NASA and NOAA. The weather satellite will orbit 22,300 miles above the planet to monitor conditions across the U.S. The rocket will fly in the Medium+ (4,2) configuration with two solid rocket boosters. August, 7, 2008 8:25 a.m. Shuttle Atlantis • HST Servicing Aug. 7 Launch time: approx. 1225 GMT (8:25 a.m. EDT) STS-125 will be the fifth and final space shuttle mission launched to service and upgrade the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope. September, 18, 2008 8:00 p.m. Shuttle Endeavour • ISS ULF2 Sept. 18 Launch time: approx. 8 p.m. local time Launch site: LC-39A, Kennedy Space Center, Florida STS-126 will be the 27th U.S. mission to the International Space Station. The flight will deliver equipment and supplies with a reusable Multi-Purpose Logistics Module. |
